The next batter, Theresa Nicholas, drove in pinch runner Marissa May on a sacrifice fly to make it 4-0 and Julia Bove made the score 5-0, as she doubled in Price.
The Tar Heels broke open the game in the fourth inning as they scored six runs on six hits and two errors. Streete and Snipes led off the inning by getting on base, both on errors by the shortstop. With runners on first and second, Young moved them over to second and third on a flyout. Price followed with a RBI single and Graziano followed Price with a RBI single of her own to make it 7-0. With two outs in the inning and two on, freshman Joslin Higgins smacked the first home run of her UNC career. UNC went up 10-0 and eventually made it 11-0 after Bove doubled and then scored on a pass ball.
