CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina men's tennis team finished off a successful first day of the 2004 dual match season as the Tar Heels blanked James Madison 7-0 Saturday evening at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. Earlier Saturday the Tar Heels defeated Davidson 7-0 and they now stand 2-0 on the young campaign.
Carolina won all six singles matches against the Dukes in straight sets. Coach Sam Paul made a slight change in his lineup from Saturday's earlier match as he flip flopped the No. 2 and No. 3 spots and the No. 4 and No. 5 spots in the singles lineup.
UNC will be in action again next Saturday, playing Campbell at 10 a.m. and Villanova at 5 p.m. at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
