MONTGOMERY, ALA. - The North Carolina men's tennis team ended a frustrating road trip to the Blue-Gray Championship Saturday as it fell to William & Mary 4-1 at the Lagoon Park Courts. After beating UAB in the first round of the tournament, the Tar Heels suffered back to back losses to Tulsa and William & Mary, both by 4-1 scores.
Trystan Meniane earned the only point for the Tar Heels as he defeated the Tribe's Alex Fish at No. 1 singles by a 6-4, 7-5 score. Carolina played singles without No. 3 player Daniel Pinchbeck, who is injured.
The Tar Heels fell to 7-4 on the season while William & Mary improved to 10-6.
Carolina returns to action next Thursday hosting regional foe South Carolina at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
