Softball Sweeps Furman

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina softball team stretched its winning streak to four Wednesday, beating Furman 1-0 and 4-3. On Tuesday, the Tar Heels swept a double-header with UNC-Greensboro. Carolina is now 15-13 on the season.
Sophomore pitcher Radara McHugh earned the first win, striking out six, and is now 11-8 on the year. Freshman Kelly Ramsey had the game-winning RBI following senior Colleen Lefferts' triple. In the second game, UNC junior centerfielder Crystal Henderson went 2-for-3 and Ramsey added another RBI.
This weekend, the Tar Heels will compete in the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C. Following games at UNC-Wilmington and a trip to the Buzz Classic in Atlanta, UNC will return home on March 31 for a double-header with Campbell.
