Georgia Tech Edges UNC in Men's Tennis, 4-3

ATLANTA, Ga. - The 74th-ranked North Carolina men's tennis team dropped another close match Sunday afternoon, falling to the 64th-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 4-3 at the Bill Moore Tennis Center on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta.
The loss was Carolinacs fourth successive in Atlantic Coast Conference play and dropped the Tar Heels to 10-12 overall and 2-4 in the conference. The Yellow Jackets improved to 11-6 on the season and 4-2 in the ACC.
The Jackets clinched the match when senior Matt Cozad came from behind to defeat UNC junior Assaf Drori at #2 singles, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3. Tech senior Benjamin Cassaigne, ranked 41st in the country in singles, also claimed a singles win for the Rambling Wreck as did sophomore Jason Jeong at #4 singles. Tech earned its fourth team point by winning two of the three doubles matches.
Carolina claimed three singles victories from sophomore David Cheatwood at #3 singles (a three-set thriller over Techcs Romain Coirault) as well as freshman Bjorn Rencken at #5 singles and sophomore Chad Riley at #6 singles.
The Tar Heels will continue a four-match road trip when they play 48th-ranked N.C. State on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C.
