Justine Fournand is in her second season as assistant coach.
Last year, the Tar Heels advanced to the semifinals of the ACC Championship with a match-play victory over Wake Forest, finished second in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional and 15th in the NCAA Championship. The Tar Heels were 12th in the final national rankings, Carolina’s highest end-of-season ranking since 2012.
Fournand won five times as a college player. She competed for two seasons (2019-21) at Florida Atlantic, two years at South Carolina (2021-23) and one at Ole Miss (2023-24).
She earned her undergraduate degree at South Carolina and a master’s at Ole Miss.
In 2026, she earned her scuba diving certification and is working toward being certified in yoga and somatic healing.
The native of Erstein, France, was Conference USA Freshman of the Year in 2020 and Player of the Year in 2021. She won four times while at FAU, averaged a school-record 71.67 as a sophomore and became the second Owl to play in an NCAA regional.
At South Carolina, Fournand fired a career-low 67 in the first round and won the Landfall Tradition at 8-under 208 after making birdie-birdie-eagle over the final three holes. She shot 4-under 68 in the final round of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional to help the Gamecocks advance to the NCAA Championship.
She helped South Carolina win a program-record five team titles in 2022. The following season, she tied for 21st in the NCAA Championship.
In 2024, Fournand helped Ole Miss win an NCAA regional for the first time. She shot a career-best 10-under-par 203 in the Cougar Classic to tie the lowest 54-hole total in program history.
Fournand earned WGCA All-America Scholar honors in each of her five seasons and made the SEC Academic Honor Roll three times.
