David Mincberg returned to UNC in 2017 to serve as an assistant athletic trainer for football and fencing. Mincberg spent the previous year as an athletic training fellow at the University of Colorado, where he worked with the football program as well as the “Ralphie Handler” Live Mascot program. He was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Tar Heels from 2014-2016, providing medical care to both football and fencing.

Mincberg is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned a bachelor’s in athletic training and spent time with the Gamecock football, swimming, and beach volleyball teams. He is originally from Madison, Wis.
