Briana Singleton joined the UNC student-athlete development staff as its assistant director in August of 2022.
In her role, Singleton leads the creation of purposeful, reciprocal and long-term engagement initiatives between UNC athletics and the surrounding Chapel Hill area, ensuring that student-athletes continue to build positive relationships with the local community.
Singleton overseas all volunteering and community engagement initiatives for UNC’s student-athletes, ensuring there is active participation in programs supporting the local community, including the UNC Hospitals system, local schools and housing projects.
Singleton also serves as the main point of contact for Team Impact, a program that matches children facing serious illness and disabilities with teams at UNC as honorary members, helping to create long-term, life-changing experiences for both Team Impact children and UNC student-athletes. She is a facilitator in the Carolina Leadership Academy for first-year, sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes.
Singleton holds a BS in public health and sport and entertainment management from the University of South Carolina, where she interned in the marketing department. She also received a MS in sport and entertainment management from the University of South Carolina.
Prior to coming to UNC in a full-time role, she served as a graduate assistant in the student-athlete development department. In this position she oversaw community outreach as well as being involved with SAAC. During this time, she also helped to facilitate all mandatory programming.
