General: Solid returning letterman for the Tar Heels...has improved in the mid-distance freestyle and butterfly events…also a strong performer for the Heels in the individual medley events...excels in the classroom, carries a cumulative GPA of 3.590.
1999-2000: At the 2000 ACC Championships, turned in personal best times in the 100 fly (51.75), 200 fly (1:52.29), and 500 free (4:37.39). Made Dean’s List in the fall and spring semesters of the 1999-00 school year…achieved a 3.925 GPA for the 2000 spring semester…2000 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
1998-99: Named to 1999 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll...tapped for Dean's List in fall semester of 1998...claims to have had a perfect attendance record for all of his classes his freshman year...finished second as a freshman in the annual UNC doughnut eating contest.
Prep: Graduated cum laude from the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn. on May 30, 1998...a National Merit Scholarship finalist...a city scholar-athlete...member of the National Honor Society...had been swimming for six years prior to coming to UNC, including four years of varsity swimming...swam the 500 and 1000 frees, 200 and 400 IMs and 200 fly...also played water polo for two years as the hole defender on the varsity...MVP as a freshman and sophomore at Auburn High School...at McCallie, he won the hardest working swimmer award as a junior...also won the coach's award his senior year...member of the 1998 Tennessee state high school championship team at McCallie...was the state champion in the 500-yard freestyle in 1998...also a 1998 high school All-America in the 500 free and as a member of the McCallie 400 free relay team...1998 McCallie team co-captain.
Personal: Given name is Willem Edward Bok, III...nicknamed "Logan" as well as "Wolverine" and "Weapon X"...is the son of Dr. Duard Bok, M.D. and Dr. Margaret Bok, M.D....was born July 1, 1980 in Houston, Texas...is an only child...athlete he most admires is Mark Allen...hobbies include hiking, biking, riding the bull, whitewater rafting, eating and skydiving...biggest sports thrill was winning his state high school championship in Tennessee his senior year...double major in biology and business administration...would like to pursue a career in the medical field.
