1997-98: Improved throughout the season as a freshman...recorded personal best times in the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle...declares himself to have been a proud member of the 1997-98 ACC championship team.
Prep: Graduated in June 1997 from Riverside High School...swam his junior and senior years at Riverside, specializing in the 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle...was a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society.
Personal: Given name is David Brevard Green...nicknames include"Green", "Lewis", "Lucky", "Bingo" and "Sparky"...has one sister...is the son of Gerry and Jane Green...athlete he most admires is Jonah Turner...hobbies include lookin in the mirror while blinking very fast, making bubbles when in the tub, reenacting Robin Hood while he runs around his back yard, which serves as the equivalent of Sherwood Forest...also says he is partial to playing backgammon...professes a fondness to dressing up very nicely and crashing weddings of people he doesn't know, claiming to be the ex-boyfriend...is a member of the UNC archeology team where in 1997 he was awarded the chief digger award for the excavation of pygmy ruins in the heart of Africa...biggest sports thrill was watching Jonah Turner swim the 200-yard butterfly at the 1997 Nike Cup while seeded first because it gave him hope and inspiration for himself...advertising major...career plans are to have his own cooking show on NBC or to be a clown/magician who performs at birthday parties.
