As a Freshman (2003) Started in 62 games at second base for the Tar Heels Finished fourth on the team with a .313 batting average Led the ACC with five triples Ranked third on the team and ninth in the ACC with six home runs Stole eight bases in 10 attempts Led the UNC middle infielders with a .983 fielding percentage Hit nine doubles and had a .520 slugging percentage Tied for second on UNC and finished ninth in the ACC with 33 RBIs Led Carolina with 17 sacrifice hits Earned All-Tournament honors at the Hokie Invitational, April 14-15 Went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs versus Bethune-Cookman on April 18 Drove in two or more runs in 10 different games this season.
At Canyon High School Earned four varsity letters under coach Lance Eddy all-league in sophomore, junior and senior seasons All-county in junior season MVP of Orange County in sophomore and junior seasons Led the team in batting average, slugging percentage, on base percentage and stolen bases as a junior Led the team in fielding percentage and was elected as the team's most valuable defensive player in sophomore and senior seasons Named to the Michelle Carew Classic All-Tournament team and earned tournament MVP in sophomore season Played volleyball and basketball in freshman and junior seasons, earning M.V.P honors in both years Graduated in the top 30 percent of her class Class council member and honor roll.
Personal Born Megan Linn Welch on May 13, 1984, in Norman, Okla. Parents are Sherry and Linn Welch Enjoys shopping, going to the beach, and playing all sports Has two older brothers-Chad graduated from Oklahoma in 1993 and Ryan is a junior at Oklahoma.
