2007-08: Went 8-9 at 174 pounds in his first season as a Tar Heel • Went 0-2 in duals and added two pins and one major decision • Placed sixth at the Michigan State Open with a 5-3 record, which included a pair of wins via fall • Also wrestled at the ACC/Big Ten Clash, the Cliff Keen Invitational and the Southern Scuffle.

At Binghamton University (2005-06): Posted an 11-11 overall record, including a 3-4 mark in duals • Recorded one pin and one major decision.
Prep: Montana state champion at Polson High School • Also posted three other top-three finishes at the state championships • Posted a 150-10 prep record • Four-time Rocky Mountain Classic champion • Also earned all-state honors in football and placed twice at the state championships in the pole vault.
Personal: Kevin Lee Owen is the son of Bob and Sandi Owen • Born June 20, 1986, in St. Ignatius, Mont. • Has one brother and two sisters • Majoring in history at Carolina and plans a career as a teacher and coach • Sister Melinda is an All-America pole vaulter at Idaho.
