2002-03:
2003 NCAA Co-Champion in the 200-yard freestyle...she and Heather Kemp of Auburn tied for the championship at 1:45.01...that was a school record time...first UNC NCAA champion since Sue Walsh won two NCAA titles in 1984...also placed sixth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.37...swam the second leg on UNC’s 800-yard freestyle relay which finished in 10th place...also finished 17th in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.03, her career best time...named 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Year...at the 2003 ACC Championships, she placed second in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:48.77, third in the 100-yard freestyle at 50.57 and fourth in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.15...on relays, she led off the 200 free relay which placed fifth, anchored the 400 medley relay which placed fifth, swam the third leg on the 800 free relay which took second and anchored the 400 free relay which took third...2003 All-ACC selection...named ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week on November 18, 2002, January 13, 2003 and January 20, 2003...had the top times in the ACC in the 100 and 200 freestyles in 2002-03...won the Jamerson Memorial Award as the most outstanding swimmer on the Carolina team...2002-03 ACC Academic Honor Roll selection...named to Dean’s List in both semesters of 2002-03 school year.
Summer 2002:
Finished 13th in the 200-meter freestyle at U.S. Nationals to earn the World University Games spot...she also finished 18th in the 100-meter freestyle and 19th in the 50-meter freestyle..qualified to swim in the 2004 Olympic Trials in the 100-meter freestyle.
2001-02:
Won the Jamerson Memorial Award as the Most Outstanding Swimmer on the 2001-02 Carolina women’s swimming team...won multiple All-America honors at the 2002 NCAA Championshps...was named a first-team selection in the 200-yard freestyle and was honorable mention in the 100-yard freestyle and on all five UNC relay teams...individually she was third in the 200 free, the best UNC national finish in four years, and ninth in the 100 free...led five relays that finished between 11th and 15th at the meet...won the ACC title in the 200-yard freestyle for the second straight year...was also third in the 100 free and eighth in the 50 free...swam on three relays which finished third and the 800 free relay which placed second at ACC’s...named first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference...awarded a CSCAA All-Academic Award with a 3.652 GPA...Dean’s List selection in both semesters last year...chosen for 2002 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Summer 2001:
Excelled in the USS Sectional at Baltimore. where she took first place in the 100 and 200 meter freestyles and was second in the 50 meter free.
2000-2001:
The 2001 ACC Women’s Swimming Rookie of the Year...had the top time in the ACC in the 200 free last year...first-team All-ACC...selected for the College Swimming Coaches Association of America All-Academic Team...won the Class of 1989 Award as the team’s Most Dedicated Swimmer...was spectacular in her first NCAA Championship meet,earning first team All-America honors...took a 14th place finish individually in the 100 freestyle...swam the second leg on the 800 free relay which placed seventh in ACC record time...led off the 400 free relay team which was eighth in a school record...she swam the second leg on the 200-yard freestyle relay which placed 11th...anchored the 400-yard medley relay to an 11th place finish and school record...she also placed 20th in the 200 free and 42nd in the 500 free...at the 2001 ACC Championships, she took third place in the 500-yard freestyle, won the ACC title in the 200-yard freestyle with a career best time of 1:47.67 and took runnerup honors in the 100-yard freestyle...she anchored the Tar Heels’ ACC champion 400-yard medley relay team and 800-yard freestyle relay team...swam the third leg on Carolina’s ACC champion 400-yard freestyle relay squad...swam the second leg on UNC’s 200 free relay which finished second at ACC’s while setting the school record...named ACC Swimmer of the Week on November 6, 2000...selected for ACC Academic Honor Roll...tapped for Dean’s List both semesters.
Prep:
Graduated on June 9, 2000 from Danville Area High School…was a five-time Pennsylvania high school state champion…also holds two state records in the Keystone State…was the 1999 high school state championships swimmer of the meet…member of the National Honor Society and student government as well as being an officer in her class…won first place in the National Spanish Exam for AP Spanish in 2000…was ranked in the top 10 of her class…was voted "Most Likely To Succeed" by her high school class.

Given name is Jessica Erin Perruquet…nicknamed "Lefty”, “Princess” and “Peanut”...was born March 26, 1982 in Danville, Pa…is the daughter of Dr. James and Rebecca Perruquet…her father played basketball for Grove City College from 1971-75…has two brothers and two sisters…hobbies include shopping, eating, reading and sleeping…athletes she most admires are Anita Nall, Michael Jordan and Josh Davis…her biggest sports thrill finishing third in NCAA Championships last year in the 200 free after having a tough ACC meet…would like to pursue as an elementary school teacher...elementary education major...would like to teach first grade.
