2018 (Senior): Started 34 games, appearing in 42 • Hit .212 with nine extra base hits, including three home runs for a .388 slugging percentage • Drove in 11 runs on 18 hits • Recorded two RBIs for a 2018 single-game high vs. Hampton (2/28) • Slugged her first home run of the season at Charlotte (3/7) • Homered a USC-Upstate (3/20) • Went 2-for-2 vs. NC State (4/14) • Capped off her collegiate career with a homer vs. Campbell (5/4) to cap off the home season.
2017 (Junior): Had a breakout junior campaign, starting all 61 games in the infield with 57 appearances at second base after seeing action at first in the first seven games • Hit .243 with a .452 slugging percentage, totaling 43 hits, 11 doubles, a triple, eight home runs, nine walks, 23 RBIs and 20 runs • Added three sac bunts, three sac bunts and a stolen base • Ranked ninth in the ACC in assists (106) and 10th with 11 double plays, which also ranks 10th in UNC’s single-season records • Went 2-for-2 with two doubles, a run and an RBI to account for two of UNC’s four hits and both of the Heels’ runs against Ohio State (2/18) • Hit her first career home run on her 21st birthday, sealing the victory over South Carolina with a three-run shot • Hit a two-run double to drive in the only runs of the game in UNC’s 2-0 win over BC • Homered against NC State in the ACC Semifinals, then cut a 4-0 deficit to one run with two outs in the seventh inning with a three-run home run against No. 4 Florida State in the ACC Championship.

2016 (Sophomore): Saw action in 23 games, with two appearances off the bench at third base • Went 0-for-2 at the plate with a walk and five runs scored • Pinch ran and scored against Georgetown, then came up again in the inning and drew a walk.
2015 (Freshman): Appeared in 24 games during her first season in Chapel Hill, primarily as a pinch runner • Went 2-for-4 at the plate while scoring eight runs.
Prep: Two-time team MVP • Earned the Golden Glove award • Named all-conference four times, all-district and all-state three times • Named to the all-area first team twice • Named Player of the Year by local media • Member of the NC Gold travel softball team • Has recorded a .433 career batting average with a .762 on-base percentage • Tallied 57 RBIs, 52 runs and 61 hits, including nine homers, as a sophomore and junior.
Personal: Born Katelyn Danielle Shifflet on Feb. 22 in Charlotte, N.C. • Daughter of Barry and Tammy Shifflett • Father Barry has his jersey retired at UNC-Charlotte where he was two-time All-America for the 49ers' baseball team • Father Barry was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1986 • Participates in the Richard A. Baddour Leadership Academy as a member of the Veteran Leaders program • Majoring in Exercise and Sport Science.
