2000-2001: Missed the bulk of the competitive season due to a bout with mononucleosis…still swam well for Carolina at the ACC Championships…a Dean’s List student in spring semester 2001…he garnered Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll kudos.

1999-2000: At the 1999 Nike Cup, he led off UNC’s 400 medley relay which placed third...also finished ninth in the 100 back…at the 2000 ACC Championships, he finished 19th in the 100 back (52.01), a lifetime best…2000 ACC Academic Honor Roll selection…Dean’s List student.
