In the third inning, Emily LeGette blasted her 21st home run of the year. It ties her with Kendra Lynch for the second-most in single season program history. It also ties her for the most home runs hit by an individual coached by Megan Smith Lyon. Tying her with Ashley Adams in 2006 on Western Carolina.

Rayna Blackwell later homered which is her 9th of the season and marks her 30th RBI of the season. UNC now has six players with 30 or more which ties the record for most by a Tar Heel team.

Sanaa Thompson sent her 13th home run deep to left field in the sixth inning to make it 11-6 game. She now has 35 RBI and 62 runs on the season. She is now tied with Shelby Barbee for the second most home runs on the team.
