Celebration Of Life For James Spurling To Be Held Feb. 15

CHAPEL HILL, NC — A Celebration of Life honoring longtime University of North Carolina Athletics staff member James Spurling will be held on Sunday, February 15, at 3 p.m. in Carmichael Arena.
Spurling, whose decades of service touched generations of student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans, was widely known for his kindness, humility and unwavering dedication to Carolina Athletics. His impact was felt across every corner of the department and throughout the Carolina community.
The Celebration of Life is open to all who wish to attend. Doors will open at 2 p.m. Free public parking will be available at Raleigh Road Visitors Lot, Stadium Drive and Bell Tower Deck. ADA parking via shuttle will be available in the Cobb Deck.
Those who would like to share photos, memories or written tributes in honor of James are invited to do so at this link: https://forms.gle/bSPBmQa36cms97Y2A. Submissions will be used to create a memorial tribute book for the Spurling family and may be included in a photo montage during the celebration.
Burial services will be held the following day and are also open to those who wish to attend.
