WBB Adds Izzy Leazier As Graduate Assistant
August 21, 2025 | Women's Basketball
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina Women's Basketball has added a new member to the family, with head coach Courtney Banghart announcing the addition of Izzy Leazier as a graduate assistant.
"We are so excited to be adding Izzy Leazier to our team, as our new grad assistant. She comes to us after a very successful playing career at TCNJ and has just completed her MBA at Penn State," said Banghart. "She will be an immediate asset to so many facets of our program. She brings a strong work ethic, a teammate mentality, and a positive attitude that will contribute to us immediately."
Leazier joins the Tar Heels after graduating from Penn State this past spring with her master's in business administration.
A four-year letterwinner at The College of New Jersey, Leazier appeared in 91 games in her career for the Lions. As a senior during the 2023-24 season, Leazier tied for the team lead with 58 assists and scored a career-high 19 points against NJCU. She also thrived in the classroom, earning a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2023. Leazier earned her undergraduate degree in May of 2024 in kinesiology and health sciences.
"I am honored to join Carolina Women's Basketball as the next graduate assistant," said Leazier. "I would like to thank Coach Banghart for this incredible opportunity and look forward to working alongside and learning from this dedicated group of coaches and student-athletes."
