
Track Lands 10 Athletes On CSC Academic All-District Team

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina track and field had ten student-athletes earn College Sports Communicators all-district honors. CSC annually recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their performances in competition and in the classroom.Â
To make the team, athletes must have a top 50 regional ranking in a single event (indoor or outdoor) at the time of nomination, along with a minimum GPA of 3.50.
Colton Sands earned Second Team All-America twice this season as he competed in the 5,000m during the indoor and outdoor national championships. Sands is studying Geological Sciences.
Max Stakun-Pickering finished third in the decathlon during the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. Stakun-Pickering is studying Psychology.
Tyler Mayerhoff qualified for the NCAA Division I East First Round in the men's discus. Mayerhoff is studying Business Administration.
Trevor Paschall Set a personal best time in the 200m (21.97) at the Virginia Tech Challenge, finishing third during the indoor season. Paschall also PRed in the 400m (46.60) during the ACC Championships. Paschall is studying Biology.
Paul Signorelli won and posted a PR in the men's pole vault (5.33m) at the Dick Taylor Challenge, which was fourth best jump in program history. Signorelli is studying Computer Science.
Delea Martins Earned All-America honors as a member of the DMR team that finished ninth at the NCAA Championship. Martins Competed at the NCAA East First Round in the 4x400m relay, running the third fastest time in program history (3:32.90 while also running the 400m. Martins is studying media and journalism
Skylar Bohlman qualified for the NCAA Division I East First Round in the women's discus. Bohlman is studying Exercise and Sport Science.
Sasha Neglia qualified for the NCAA Division I East First Round in the women's 3,000m steeplechase. Neglia is studying Statistics and Analytics.
Makayla Paige has rewritten the Carolina and NCAA all-time record book during her national championship-winning season. Paige won the indoor national championship in the 800m. Paige followed it up by finishing in second at the outdoor national championships and running the fifth fastest time in NCAA history in the 800m (1:58.97). Paige is studying Geological Sciences.
In her one year as a Tar Heel, Kate Joyce finished third in the women's javelin during the ACC Championships. Joyce earned Second Team All-America honors with her ninth-place finish at the NCAA Championships. Joyce graduated with her Master of Applied Professional Studies.
