June 2, 2025 | Women's Basketball
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Coming off a record-breaking career as a Tar Heel, North Carolina women's basketball's Alyssa Ustby is taking the next step in her basketball journey by joining the 3XBA for Spokane Hoopfest this month.
Ustby joins the 3-on-3 league for the annual Spokane Hoopfest Tournament later this month, from June 25-28 in Washington. The tournament's winning team earns an automatic spot for future FIBA 3x3 women's events this summer.
Launching in 2010, 3x3 is a fast-paced basketball format played on a half-court with 10-minute games and a 12-second shot clock. The sport made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo Games in 2021.
Throughout her five seasons in Chapel Hill, Ustby made her mark by leaving as UNC's all-time leading rebounder. This past season, Ustby earned All-ACC First Team and ACC All-Defensive Team honors and wrapped her career No. 3 all-time in the ACC with 1,251 total rebounds. Her name will remain in the record books for years to come as she also ranks No. 7 at Carolina with an average of 8.5 rebounds per game and No. 8 with 140 blocks.
