
Rodriguez, Myrtle Pick Up All-ACC Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Kat Rodriguez was named to the First-Team All-ACC and Carlie Myrtle was named to the Third-Team All-ACC the league announced on Wednesday morning.

Rodriguez finished the regular season with one of the best single seasons in UNC and ACC history. The Pembroke Pines, Fla. native shattered the single-season program record for RBI with 83 which also ties the single-season ACC record and leads the nation. She leads the ACC in batting average, hitting a stellar .464. The average is currently the second highest in program history. Her 77 hits are second most in the league and her .521 on-base percentage is fourth in the conference and third best in single-season program history. She also ranks top-15 in the ACC in runs, doubles, slugging percentage, and sacrifice-flies. Her 56 runs are second most in a single season in program history. The graduate student is the only player in ACC history to win four ACC Player of the Week awards in a single season.

Myrtle had a career season for the Tar Heels, belting 16 home runs after hitting six in her career prior to this season. She's wracked up 56 RBI which is good enough for sixth best in single-season program history. Her 40 walks are the sixth most in single-season program history. She also is tied with Sanaa Thompson for the most sacrifice flies in single-season program history.

The Tar Heels look towards the ACC Tournament which starts today. UNC will take on Notre Dame in the first round at 7:30 PM at Boston College on the ACC Network.
