In the third inning, Shelby Barbee was mere inches away from a game tying three run homer that bounced off the very top of the wall and scored Sanaa Thompson.
Â
In the sixth Carlie Myrtle blasted her 17th home run of the season to make it a one run game. The senior capped off her career with a homer in her last at bat that sent her to sixth most RBI in a single season, finishing with 57 on the season. She also finishes fifth in single season program history for home runs.
Â
Britton Rogers came into the game and did all she could to keep the Tar Heels in the game, throwing 5.2 masterful innings without allowing an earned run while only allowing two hits. The senior left it all out in the circle in her final game.
