Women’s Tennis Earns No. 5 Overall Seed & 26th Consecutive NCAA Bid

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina women's tennis team is the No. 5 overall seed and will host one of 16 regional sites in the 2025 NCAA Tennis Championship, the NCAA announced on Monday. The Tar Heels are making their 26th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
As the No. 5 overall seed, UNC will host South Carolina, Kansas and VCU in the Chapel Hill Regional on Friday and Saturday May 2-3 at the Chewning Tennis Center.

Kansas (14-11) and South Carolina (14-11) will meet in the opening first-round match on Friday at 1 p.m. in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels (23-4), winners of two consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference titles, will face VCU (11-10) at 4 p.m.
Friday's two first-round winners will meet on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Chapel Hill for the right to advance to the NCAA Super Regional round the following weekend.
Carolina enters the NCAA Tournament having won eight straight matches and 16 of its last 17.
UNC earned a national seed in the team championship for the 21st time in 22 seasons under the direction of head coach Brian Kalbas. Carolina will be making its 26th consecutive appearance in the NCAA field and 21st in a row under Kalbas' guidance.
The Tar Heels own an all-time NCAA Tournament record of 64-24 and have advanced beyond the regional round on 19 occasions, including a run to the program's first NCAA championship in 2023.
