Ogunsanya Tabbed ACC Wrestler Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - North Carolina wrestling 174-pounder Joshua Ogunsanya has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Wrestler of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon.Â
Ogunsanya's 3-0 mark on the week was highlighted by his 15-13 decision over Stanford's fourth-ranked Lorenzo Norman Friday night.Â
The win over Stanford last weekend helped the Tar Heels claim a share of the ACC regular season title with NC State and Virginia Tech. The dual championship in the 19th in program history, the first since the 2018-19 campaign.Â
Versus the Cardinal, Ogunsanya trailed 9-3 entering the final period, collecting four third-period takedowns to clip the nation's fourth-ranked. On Sunday at the Wildcat Open, the River Forest, Ill. product earned a technical fall and fall to claim the 174-pound title.Â
Up next, the Tar Heels will head to the 2025 ACC Wrestling Championships at Cameron Indoor Stadium on the campus of Duke, March 9.
