Softball Shutout At Clemson, 5-0

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Carolina softball team (20-5, 2-3 ACC) suffered its first road loss of the season on Friday, falling 5-0 to No. 14 Clemson (18-6, 3-2 ACC) at McWhorter Stadium. The Tar Heels were shutout for just the fourth time this season.

Freshman Nikki Harris (5-3) took the loss in the circle, allowing three earned runs, four hits and a walk in 1.1 innings.
Â
Redshirt junior Britton Rogers pitched the remaining 4.2 innings, allowing two earned runs and a walk with a walk.
Â
Carolina recorded just five hits on the night, with graduate Abby Settlemyre's double to lead off the bottom of the seventh the only one going for extra bases.Â

Clemson hit three solo home runs in the game.

The Tar Heels will look to even the series at 1 p.m. on Saturday on ACCNX.
