Softball Falls to Louisville in Series Opener

Taylor Greene and Sara Jubas each recorded two RBIs in the matchup, while Kiannah Pierce went a team-best 2-of-3 at the plate.
Despite Louisville having just one more hit in the game, the Cardinals were able to hit two-run home runs with five doubles.
Senior pitcher Hannah George (10-4) took the loss in the circle, allowing six earned runs and three walks in one inning. Lilli Backes pitched the remaining five innings, allowing three earned runs while striking out seven.
Jubas was able to record her fourteenth double of the season in the fifth inning. She currently leads the ACC in doubles and ranks No. 6 in the NCAA.
The Tar Heels will look to even the series tomorrow at 3 p.m.
