Softball Shutout by No. 18 Clemson, 7-0

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Carolina softball team was shutout by No. 18 Clemson 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at Anderson Stadium.
The Tar Heels were able to record just four hits in the game, with Clemson's pitcher Mille Thompson tallying six strikeouts and one walk.
Hannah George (10-3) took the loss in the circle, allowing three runs in three innings pitched. Kianna Jones tossed .1 of an inning, giving up a four-run home run, while Talia Hannappel threw 3.2 scoreless innings to close out the game.
Clemson (24-10) scored six of their seven runs off of three home runs.
Defensively, the Tar Heels (19-16, 4-7 ACC) were able to turn three double plays, a season best.
Carolina will finish the series tomorrow at 1 p.m.
