
First Day In The Books At ACC Men's Swimming

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference men's swimming championship opened on Wednesday with a pair of relay events inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
North Carolina finished seventh in the 800-yard freestyle relay event with an NCAA "B" cut time of 6:20.96. In the first event of the four-day championship, the Tar Heels placed eighth in the 200-yard medley relay with a "B" cut time of 1:24.80.
After a strong performance in diving last week led by Anton Down-Jenkins' pair of gold medals and the most valuable diving award, UNC remains in the lead of the team rankings with 304 points.
The first full day of competition gets underway on Thursday with 10 a.m. prelims in the 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free. The finals that will also feature the 200-yard freestyle relay get started at 6 p.m.
