The North Carolina men's and women's fencing teams went a combined 14-3 over the weekend at the Philadelphia Invitational. Hosted by the University of Pennsylvania, the annual event was held Saturday and Sunday at the Tse Ping-Cheung Ling Sports Center and included a field of 20 teams.

The Tar Heel women were a perfect 6-0 on Saturday and went 2-1 on Sunday to finish the weekend with a stellar 8-1 record. The Carolina men were 4-1 on Saturday and 2-1 on Sunday.

Next up for the Tar Heels is a trip to Notre Dame, Ind., for the Northwestern Dual Meets Feb. 3-4.
