In the most frequently played rivalry in ACC women's basketball history, NC State holds a 53-50 edge in the series over the Tar Heels. UNC owns a 9-2 edge over the Wolfpack since 2011-12 and won 83-70 in Chapel Hill back on Jan. 29 at Carmichael Arena.
LAST MEETING
Behind a school-record tying 14 three-pointers, including six alone from Jamie Cherry, North Carolina earned an 83-70 victory over No. 18 NC State on Sunday, Jan. 29 from Carmichael Arena. The Tar Heels shot a sizzling 62 percent in the second half on their way to snapping a five-game losing streak. Cherry scored all of her game-high 23 points in the second half. Paris Kea flirted with a triple-double again with 21 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, while Stephanie Watts had 19 points and eight rebounds. Destinee Walker chipped in 12.
LAST TIME OUT
Asia Durr scored 28 points to lift No. 14 Louisville to an 87-57 victory over North Carolina on Sunday. Redshirt sophomore Paris Kea reached the 20-point plateau for the 12th time, scoring a team-high 26 points. Freshman Taylor Koenen registered 14 points and nine rebounds, while Jaime Cherry had 13. Alyssa Okoene hauled in 11 rebounds.
North Carolina played minus its second-leading scorer Stephanie Watts, who's bruised knee forced her to miss the first game of her career. Double-figure scorer Destinee Walker was also unavailable for a fifth-straight outing.
