
Fevry Leads Tar Heel Women At Garrett Penn State Open

Freshman Carlexa Fevry led UNC Saturday as the Carolina women's fencing team competed at the Garrett Penn State Open in University Park, Pa. Fevry's fifth place finish in the women's foil field of 42 was the Tar Heels' best of the day.
Also in foil, another first-year, Wei Chee Chen, placed 17th, Gabrielle D'Astoli was 22nd, Sydney Persing was 23rd and Alicia Chen was 35th.
In the epee field of 42, Justine De Grasse placed 22nd and Elli Moreno tied for 23rd to lead the Tar Heels. Samantha Galina placed 35th, Erin O'Neill was 36th and Beni Mathieu finished 39th.
In women's sabre, a field of 29, Diana Philpot placed 12th, Jackie Litynski was 15th, Sarah Hanvy was 19th, Noa Allen was 20th and Meredith Bozentka was 21st.
