Carolina Comes Back To Beat Bradley 8-4

Statesboro, Ga. – The Tar Heels fell behind to Bradley early but battled back to get the win and finish the weekend undefeated.
The two teams first met two weeks ago at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. Carolina won that meeting 8-0 in five innings after Kendra Lynch hit a walk-off home run.
This game would go differently as Kathryn Spenn belted a three run homer in the first inning. The Braved would add another run in the top of the third after Erika Hansen singled up the middle to bring in Brittany Burgess.
The comeback would begin in the bottom of the third after Kristen Brown knocked an RBI double to score Taylor Wike. Jenna Kelly stepped up to the plate after Amber Parrish was hit by a pitch and sent a screaming line drive that the Bradley second baseman could not handle, allowing Brown to score. After a Kendra Lynch walk, Lauren Walker's grounder went through the legs of Braves shortstop Taylor Willhalm would bring in Elly Wagner pinch running for Parrish.
The very next at bat sophomore Darby Rosen hit a bases clearing double that gave the Tar Heels the lead 6-4.
Jenna Kelly would hit a RBI single in the fourth and Kristen Brown would pick up her second RBI of the day with a single in the sixth seal the victory at 8-4.
Kendra Lynch started the day in the circle for UNC, pitching 3.2 innings and striking out three. Sydney Matzko and Kaylee Carlson each appeared, combining for three strikeouts over 3.1 innings.
