Tar Heels Combine For 9-1 Mark On Day 2 At Northwestern

The UNC men's and women's fencing squads competed at the NU Duals for a second day on Sunday as part of a large field at Henry Crown Sports Pavilion at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. The Tar Heel men went 4-0 and the women were 5-1.

After starting the day with a loss to host Northwestern, ranked No. 7 nationally, the UNC women beat UCSD, Tufts, Fairleigh Dickinson, Detroit Mercy and Cleveland State.The Tar Heel men beat Detroit Mercy, UCSD, Cal Tech and Cleveland State.
Up next for UNC are the Duke Dual Meets. The men will compete in Durham on Saturday, with the women in action on Sunday.
