Tar Heels Best Binghamton At Northeast Duals

TROY, N.Y. --- North Carolina won its second dual of the season with a 22-14 victory over Binghamton Saturday at the Northeast Duals. The Tar Heels got bonus point wins from Evan Henderson and John Staudenmayer to race out to a 19-3 lead they would not relinquish. Carolina suffered a pair of close losses later in the day, as the Tar Heels fell to Central Michigan, 18-16, and Michigan State, 22-19.
Henderson, Christian Barber and Alex Utley were triple winners for the Tar Heels, who fell to 2-4 on the young season. Henderson had a pair of major decisions as well as a 7-4 win over No. 14 Zach Horan of Central Michigan. Utley also had a win over a ranked opponent, as he defeated No. 19 John Rizqallah of Michigan State by a 7-3 decision.
Carolina will return to action on Dec. 22 when the Tar Heels travel to Reno, Nev., for the Reno Invitational.
