
Tar Heels Tested At Harvard Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The North Carolina men's and women's fencing teams tested themselves against a competitive field at the Harvard Invitational on Sunday, with the men finishing 3-2 and the women 2-3.
The Tar Heel men beat NYU (15-12), Sacred Heart (15-12) and Vassar (16-11), while falling to Princeton (18-9) and host Harvard (17-10). The women beat NYU (15-12) and Vassar (18-9), but fell to Harvard (22-5), Princeton (18-9) and Sacred Heart (16-11).
The men's epee squad ranked as the standout weapon for the Tar Heels, going undefeated on the day.
Next up for UNC is a trip to the New England Dual Meets in Waltham, Mass., on Dec. 6.
