"It's a very difficult way to end the season. It's always tough because of the seniors. JJ and Cassie and Ashley [Jennifer Jacobs, Cassie Palmer, Ashley Oxendine] gave so much for this program and we achieved a 50-win season for the first time ever.
"Campbell battled hard. They had good success this season - they won their conference and I'm sure they had a good high coming off that. They battled us. This spring we shut them out in two games, so you have to give them credit for fighting.
"It's very difficult that we're hosting and we're the first team out. I don't even know what to say because I didn't expect it. I was not expecting to be in this position right now.
On next season...
"We definitely have high hopes for next year. There's going to be a huge void to fill. Cassie is the best defensive second baseman we've ever had and JJ was one of our leading hitters. Ashley Oxendine was a very steady player. When you have players in your program for four years, they mature, they develop - they've just excelled for us and been good leaders. This group was so tight - it was the best team I've ever had. Every year it's a new challenge with the chemistry and the talent and how you play, and we'll definitely have some voids to fill offensively and defensively.
Hopefully this leave a bad enough taste in the mouths of the people who are coming back that we'll be hungry and work hard. But we did work hard this year, that's the hard part. But, we're done."
