Tar Heel Softball Falls 4-1 To No. 11 DePaul

FULLERTON, Calif.-The University of North Carolina softball team fell 4-1 to No. 11 DePaul Thursday and is now 1-1 in play at the Kia Klassic, hosted by Cal State Fullerton. The Tar Heels (17-7-1) will meet No. 10 Arizona State Friday at 9 a.m. PT in their final game of pool play. Championship play begins at 5 p.m. Friday and continues through Sunday.
DePaul's Sarah Douglas led off the scoring Thursday with a solo home run in the second inning. UNC tied it up in the third when freshman Emily Price scored, but the Tar Heels weren't able to get another runner past second. DePaul scored two more runs in the fifth and another in the sixth.
Sophomore Michael Parrott took the loss for UNC, striking out three and giving up 12 hits, all singles except for Douglas' home run.
