Softball Drops Two to South Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina softball team lost twice at South Carolina Tuesday afternoon to fall to 2-6 for the season. In Columbia, S.C., South Carolina won the first game 6-0 and the second 2-0 to improve to 9-2.
The Tar Heels committed three errors in the first game and managed just two hits. In the second, Megan Smith went 2-for-3 and four other players each added a hit, but the Tar Heels stranded eight runners. Radara McHugh took the first loss for UNC and Erin Joseph the second, while Megan Matthews earned both the South Carolina wins.
The Tar Heels are back in action this weekend at the Bama Bash in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
