Will Randolph, a four-year Tar Heel letterwinner and 2008 UNC graduate, has returned to the North Carolina fencing program as an assistant coach. His focus will be on coaching the men’s and women’s sabre squads and he also will handle team operations.
Randolph, who grew up in Fayetteville, N.C., and Lenexa, Kansas, started fencing at age 10 at the Kansas City Fencing Center. At UNC, he was a three-time men’s sabre captain and reached the NCAA Championships his freshman year. A political science major, he was a two-time winner of the Richard A. Baddour Carolina Leadership Academy’s Leader of Distinction Award.
Since graduation, he has worked in the education field, first at an alternative school in North Carolina then at an experiential education school in Maine. Most recently, he taught at a Montessori school in Winston-Salem, N.C.
